We love a good party, whether it is a small birthday celebration for two or a once-in-a-lifetime wedding or family reunion. And the good news is, we are set up for both! We love decorating our guest rooms and tracking down a birthday cake, bottle of delicious champagne – or whatever is your personal favorite. But we also love hosting events, whether a large cocktail party throughout our main building, an elegant family luncheon in the Rappahannock Room, or a fun picnic in the Garden. Just let us know what you’d like and we will do our very best to make it happen!
Let us help you celebrate your birthday, anniversary or retirement with local flowers, freshly-baked desserts, selection of fine wines, a flight of oysters — or whatever means the most to you! And don’t be surprised if we join in the fun with a special gift!
Rental & Event Spaces
Several of our spaces are available for your special event. The Rappahannock Room can host up to 40 for a seated dinner or 75 for a standing reception… our private conference room seats up to 18 around a boardroom table… and our combined lobby, living room and adjacent spaces can be configured to hold up to 199 guests.
And outside, in our private garden and pebbled lot, the possibilities are almost limitless!

Planning a team-building retreat, company leadership offsite, family reunion, or group event? Our flexible floorplan and range of rooms offer integrated spaces for meeting, networking, gathering, dining, wining, playing, socializing and relaxing. The Garden is a perfect spot to host your tented reception, family picnic, campfire concert, or cornhole tournament.
To ensure your group gathering is a success, we also offer amenities and services such as high-speed wifi, a private conference room, gourmet coffee service, full catering kitchen, and a wheelchair accessible suite. We can also work with you to arrange a boat trip, soundbath, yoga session, live music, massage and other special offerings for your guests.

weddings
Whether you want a teeny tiny wedding or an old-fashioned wedding on the water, you deserve a special day and we would truly be honored to help you make your vision come true. We have had wedding parties take over the entire Inn, but we have also helped couples plan a small intimate celebration in secret. As you plan your event, you can reserve all twelve rooms at the Inn – or just a few rooms for special out of town guests. Our Garden is the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner, and your approved caterer is welcome to use our kitchen. We are also happy to organize cocktail receptions or wedding breakfasts in our living room. There are a number of locations nearby for wedding receptions, and we are happy to help you find the perfect place. When you plan your wedding with the Inn, we are literally at your service – we do whatever you need to make your special day a success, whether it’s organizing welcome bags or driving forgotten shoes to the bride (both true stories)!
